First Day Photographs
On the first day, we were asked to take pictures of a variety of objects, with hopes of taking quality pictures. My first thought on the assignment was, "oh boy" because I expected my pictures to be boring and flat. With the use of light and angles, I ended up with an arrangement of photographs that surprised me in my own capability. I found the lighting to work for me the best to create reflections and shadows. While I was satisfied with most of my work, I found the skull to be the hardest to take a good picture of because of its strange design with the hinges on the side.
Selfie
I have had no camera experience past using an iPhone camera. When I used to take pictures, I would hope in general they looked alright, but had no idea of the certain aspects of the picture that really change the feel. I personally like to take pictures of cars and action shots. I grew up in a motocross racing scene and have always had a love for cars. I don't race anymore, as it was only a childhood past time, but I still watch the races religiously. One photographer that I have noticed on Instagram is named Simon Cudby. He takes all sorts of pictures of racers or cool scenery, and overall his work is very interesting to me. I hope to take quality car pictures at the end of this class because I find them super interesting and creative. Here is my first insight on a basic car picture, where I got the idea from waxing my car and saw a reflection of myself. I took it because cars don't always have a nice shine, it takes work and I love to do that work to keep things nice.
